Bottle. Gold pour with white head. Aroma is whiff of sewer gas, dreadful. Flavour isn’t bad, lagery and malty with a light bitterness. Good finish.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/30/2013. Pours lightly hazy orange amber color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of caramel, apple, pear, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt, hop, and yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toast, pear, apple, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, apple, pear, floral, grass, light pine, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of malt, hop, and yeast flavors; with good flavor robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and smooth mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice imperial steam beer. Good balance of malt, yeast, and hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours fizzy, amber-gold with a short, off-white head. Aroma of barley, malt. Slightly bitter, earthy hops over barley, grain flavour.... Very pleasant.

12oz bottle. Creative style variation. Filtered orange-tan body. Steady, frothy, off-white head. Woody, earthy aroma, relatively mild, malty. Big but clean caramel malt tones, with an orange-liqueur tinged ale fruitiness coming across. Soapy hop tones, not so impressive there, just give it some upfront bitterness and a piny balance in the finish. Kind of bridges the gap between a Sticke Alt and a California Common, if you can dig it. Unique and tasty.

12oz bottle pours a clear, cream soda amber with some thin, white head. Nose of honey, bread dough, some candy, a little faux vanilla. Flavor is similar, really reminded me of cream soda, light vanilla, malt, honey, bread dough. Medium, slick finish.

The Irish Pol, Philadelphia tap: Pours brown with a tan head. Aroma is malt, vanilla, and some wood. Taste is, without taking the analogy too far, something between a double brown ale and a doppelbock. Not really fruity, but subtlely lagery. Not really malty, but a bit. Not sweet either. In a sense, this beer is just in the middle of everything. Easy to drink and pleasant for sure.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-amber color with a large creamy-soapy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet and fruity with a touch of orange sherbert. The flavor was tangy with notes of pepper, yeast, citrus, bread and a touch of cardboard. Medium length tangy pepper, citrus and bread finish. Medium body. Ok.
