Golden? This is obsidian black. A semi-sparkling, sake-soaked stout. Surpsingly scrumptious.

Poured from 310mL bottle (15.11 - 17.10). Dark brown with beige head. Lots of raisin and fig with caramel malt, very sweet (perhaps too much so). Light-to-medium body.

Bottle from Yamaoka. Dark brown with a reddish tint and a huge tan head. Sweet, malty aroma with raisins, figs, roasted malt, barnyard earthiness, viney, quite heavily roasted flavor. Very sweet with lots of caramel and dried fruits, but a slight dry character as well. A touch of sour as well. The finish is sweet caramel malt, tailing off into a dry, roasted end. Medium lasting. Very good first impression, but getting boring maybe… Needs to age a bit, I think.
