Scotch-Style Ale
So good it’s almost wrong. Dark ruby in color and brewed with seven varieties of imported malts. Complex in finish, with hints of smoke and peat, paired with a malty richness and a right hook of hop power to give it the bad attitude that a beer named Dirty Bastard has to live up to. Ain’t for the wee lads.

355 ml bottle. Unclear mahogany brown, small beige head. Earthy notes, smoke, toffee, pine, dry grapefruit notes, spicy hops, burnt sugar. Dry hoppy bitterness, malty sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry bittersweet finish. Really hoppy, malty and very balanced!

Bottle, 0.355l. Deep amber pour, thin soapy off-white head, short lasting. Minimal lacing on the glass. Nose is heavy on the malt, strong caramel and sugary notes, quite intense, slightly toasted. Hints of liquor. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Creamy texture, thick and chewy, very soft mouthfeel, mild prickly. Sweet taste with subtle alcohol bitterness. Aroma of toasted caramel, toffee, brown sugar, molasses. Syrupy, nutty. Subtle herbal spiciness. Liquory, rum notes, nicely warming, alcohol slowly builds up toward the finish, gentle burn on the tongue. Nicely balanced. Medium lasting finish. Quite tasty.

Slightly hazy deep amber brown colour, small frothy tan head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Rich and strong aroma, roasted malt, caramel, candy sugar, dried dark fruits, treacle, ripe plum, alcohol. Taste light heavy sweet and light (malty) bitterness, roasty, candy sugar, caramel, treacle, light chocolate, alcohol. Full-bodied, oily to sticking texture, soft carbonation, smooth bittersweet finish with warming-alcohol, certainly not oversweet, good balance, but be careful this is heavy stuff, well-made, a real sipper, excellent.
