Baptist Helles ist angelehnt an den Bierstil, der in der „Alten Freyung“ zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts gebraut wurde, als unser Ur-Großvater Joseph Göller die Brauerei zusammen mit Ehefrau Magarethe und Bruder Baptist betrieb:
Baptist Göller war in der Alten Freyung für die Landwirtschaft zuständig, während Firmengründer Joseph und Magarethe Göller sich um die Brauerei und den Gasthof kümmerten. Überliefert ist bis heute Baptists „Schlitzohrigkeit“ sowie seine Leidenschaft zum Schafkopfen.
Baptist Helles ist untergärig, weich, mild-würzig und vor allem süffig!

Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of grain, malt, citrus, and cereal. Flavour is light sweet and bitter. Light bodied with light moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Clear golden, fine carbonation, white lace. Ripe grain and grassy hop aroma. Medium full chewy malt body, actually quite intense without getting too heavy at any point, grassy, light citric and herbal hops to balance. Tingles on the palate on the way out. Very good Helles.

ABV: 4.9%. Clear medium yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity malt, grain, light straw, light hoppy, grass, herbal - floral. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, pale malt, sweet malt, herbal - floral, grass, crispy, light straw-like. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20200731]

0,5 l bottle from a Hol´Ab! market. Clear dark golden with a more than two finger white foamy head. Smells low grassy grainy. Taste is grainy caramel, hints of citrus fruits. Increasing bitterness in the middle section. Getting thinner to the end. High drinkability. Not bad for a Helles.
