This West Coast-style Pale Ale is brewed with 80% English barley malt and 20% rye malt. It boasts a massive floral aroma of resinous hops, contributing notes of lemons, peaches and pine needles and anchored by sweet, malty flavor of toffee and freshly-baked pumpernickel bread.

12oz can. Unfiltered bright orange-tan body. Steady foamy white head. A lot of Rye in the aroma, coupled with some earthy lemony hops. Brighter than most Rye beers, but kind of odd and unenjoyable still. Sticky sweet tones all over the place. I am really not fond of Rye 90% of the time. Kind of gross, not off, just not enjoyable at all.

Sample at the Big Tap In on 05/31/2014. Hazy copper-golden color with a medium foamy off-white head that diminishes steadily. Strings of lacing. Aroma of floral hops, fruit and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of grassy hops, citrus and roast malt. The finish is herbal hops and mildly spicy rye. Decent overall.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a super light golden orange colored body leaving a nice foamy two finger white head, a lot of ringy light foamy lacing appears. The body is too hazy for any carbonation to be seen.
The smell had hops and rye up front with some nice citrus in the background.
The taste was pretty much the same with a super nice sweet spicy aftertaste.
On the palate, it sat at/about a light to medium with nothing harsh on the tongue. A bit of a dry finish and a pretty drinkable beer.
Overall, I’m quite impressed, \"rye beers\" are growing on me. However, I will say this because of the hops and citrus coming is as they do, this could be borderline IPA, perhaps. No worries, I would still have this again.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Sparrow-Downtown, 12/16/12
Aroma: The nose has some citrus, rye bread, some caramel, and a little spice
Appearance: Pours a clear golden-orange color with a foamy, lasting white head and lace streaks
Flavor: It tastes lightly sweet, fairly bready/malty, rye is definitely present, and it finishes lightly bitter
Palate: Light-medium bodied, has a fairly crisp early feel, with a clean, dry, bready feel to the finish
Overall Impression: I found this one to be quite solid. It really does serve the purpose as a a clean, drinkable Rye APA. It may not be an blow you out of the water beer, and it may have suffered here because I just rated a world class APA (MO), but I really don't have too many complaints at all. This is quality stuff.

Hazy amber beer, thick white head. Light semi dry palate. Rye spice and well balanced hops. Bitterish grapefruit with a trace of orange. Finishes mildly bitter and semi dry. Nicely joined up and very drinkable.
