First brewed in 2003. Pale in color but packed with flavor, Mojo reflects the perfect balance of hop bitterness and malt character. The unique Amarillo hop creates a big, grapefruit-like citrus flavor and aroma, making Mojo a very zesty IPA that's crisp and refreshing.

Pours little lighter and more golden than expected. Head is fairly substantial, but a little sudsy and dies down quickly, lacing a bit. Aroma is a little more non-descript than expected (am I coming down with a cold?). Flavor is pleasant, much more grain dominant than I expected. Hops are a little understated, especially in the finishing touches where lemon seems to dominate more than hops. Crisp and pleasant.

I just managed to try this one on draft and from the bottle in the last 2 days. Of the 2 versions I like the bottle better and this rating is for the bottle. The beer poured a bright copper color with a medium sized yellow head. The aroma is strong with fruity hops. The flavor is strongly sweet with a nice fruity hop character that reflects the Amarillo characteristics quite well. This makes a nice showcase beer for the Amarillo hop. The mouthfeel is fairly thick and syrupy.

04-05 bottle thanks to Larry Pitonka. Clear peach-orange, with some golden-copper hues and a small white head, very rapidly dissipating to nothing. Aroma is pretty eye-opening, more hops than I was expecting. Not horribly citrusy in the nose, but pretty green and juicy, with some sweet fruitiness as well. Maybe a touch of malt. Flavor begins with hops and ends on hops. There is a strange, light sour/butterscotch flavor that Iโm not too keen on, but the hops flavor is pretty true, for what they are trying to accomplish. A bit of spoiled peach/meatiness plays with the hop bitterness and it gets boring, to my tastes, towards the end. Medium body, at best, horribly filtered and hard tasting. Is this pasteurized? I think so. Poured out the last quarter or so. On a positive note, I couldnโt detect much, if any alcohol.

Pale golden color. Very nice hop aroma, fruity (grapefruit and abricots), lighlty cheesy, aggressive. Very strong bitterness, fruity (grapefruit, grapes, abricots). Rough, extreme, quite enjoyable. Thank Jens (Ungstrup) for this bottle.

Pour is a nice honey color with no head. Aroma is hops with a nice malt backbone. Flavor is super hoppy. Almost if not more hoppy than the IIPA i had before. Lots of pine and citrus to go around in this brew. If your a hop head you need to get this brew ASAP!

Medium yellow color that is a bit diluted for the average IPA. Thin head. Not too much hop aroma from this one. Slightly sweet with some chalkyness. Needs more hop bitterness. A decent brew, but somewhat tame to be a real top notch IPA.

A clear orange beer with a white head. The aroma is extremely hoppy, grassy, and fruity. The flavor is hoppy and OK bitter, somewhat malty, with a dry end.

Orange beer, clear; slim orangeish head. Grapey and grapefruit hops, vanilla, some piney wafts. Very bitter though fruity onslaught, a bit harsh, but mellowing out by some malts, shortbread-like. Unfortunately, a harsh resiny tang keeps hanging aroung, ending walnutpeel-like. Medium bodied, burning sensation. Too harsh, too much hopgift for its malt backing. Nose is very nice, however, moreโs the pity.

This IPA just hit town and itโs already a hit with me.
I like the hop character in this one; itโs got that certain" twang" and the body is pretty heavy for the style. Yum.
Best regards,
Bill
