Draft. Brown body with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toast, nuts, light chocolate, light floral. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Taste of toasted/roasted grain, bread, light caramel, earthiness. Easy drinking and clean. Bierstadt is a favorite to visit when in Denver. Left with a three pack of crowlers of the pils, helles and dunkel. Good stuff.

On tap at the Lagerhaus. Thanks, Cubs and Leighton! Pours a clear, light brown color, with a medium, beige head. The nose is rye bread, caramel, cardamom, and mild coffee. Mellow, malty sweetness, with a hint of bitterness. Light to medium body, with a surprisingly crisp mouthfeel. Pretty solid dunkel.

Keg a tight the brewery tap. Pours clear copper with a creamy head. The aroma holds toasted bread, caramel, a few leaves. Medium sweet flavour with more bready malts, toasted caramel, no bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, further toast, more caramel, rounded bread. Good stuff.

Tap at the brewery - clear Amber with a fluffy white head - dry, toasty, rich malt nose, with some nuttiness, but also some floral and lemony hops - creamy texture, fairly full in the mouth - flavors of banana, dark bread, cherry skins - a bright, but not overwhelming acidity arrives late to keep the rich malts from clinging to the palate - well done.
