An ale brewed with a ridiculous amount of raspberry juice. Fort has a Belgian-style base, then we follow a similar fermentation process to the one we use on beers like 120 Minute IPA and World Wide Stout.
Fort is an excellent candidate for cellaring. Grab a few bottles, enjoy one now and lay the others down for a few years. Want to know when the Fort you find was bottled? Check the 'Bottled On' date on the neck of each bottle.
Fort is also an excellent food beer. Our favorite pairings include anything chocolate or a nice piece of duck.
The Fort label art was designed by our rock-and-roll friend Tara McPherson. Tara also did the label art for our Chateau Jiahu and our 2012 Seasonal Prints and Uber-Tap Handle. Can you tell we kinda love her work?!

Bottle. Dogfish head did a wonderful job with this brew. The alcohol content is kind of high, but considering it is 18% that isn’t too bad. Somewhat thick white head with a pale redish body. Certainly not their best beer, but decent enough to try at least once.

Whoa. What a piece of crap! Now don’t get me wrong, I love DFH and their experimentation, and generally think they excel at the super heavyweight beers. But this one - nope. Aroma hints at raspberries with a vinous note and some sweet alcohol. Flavor is boozy and intense, a blend of raspberry, brandy and fusels. Very medicinal, like bad cough syrup. Def syrupy sweet. Ugh. Palate burning. Gasoline. In some ways reminscent of cheap nasty wine. Amber color darkened by a hint of raspberry read, smallish head and light carbonation.

750 from mgumby10; Nose is of raspberries (WHAT ELSE) with a small hint of caramel malt, but faint; hazy copper orange with a medium cinnamon colored head; flavor is raspberries, moderate alcohol, and some background maltiness. It is a potent fruit beer, thought I had a WWS but the’re only 12 ozers!

#500 with a PUNCH 750 all by myself wow. Pours out a copper red. with lots of bubbles. A very nice berry aroma. Tast of berry and THAT 18%. Pretty crazy.

Bottle CPH festival: Amber off white head. Strong sweet malty/fruity taste Light fizzy/sprinkling palate.. Power strong biting and burning alcohol flavor. Hard to drink/swallow - too much alcohol!

Bottle, at csbosox KC tasting 4/14. Pour is a hazy orange. Aroma is raspberry, and pretty much nothing else. Taste starts with the tart / sour raspberry and builds, and builds, and builds. Huge hot aftertaste. This has a huge malt profile, and a huge raspberry taste, that somehow just didn’t work for me. csbosox mixed some of this with the Ø Impy Stout, and that was pretty tasty!

I had really been looking forward to this one. Sampled from a 25.6 oz brown bottle this beer poured a red-caramel color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was tart, tangy, bitter, sour and almost vinegary. The flavor was bitter, tart and tangy with a moderate syrupy berry undertone and a long tart berry finish that was really overwhelming. The alcohol seemed noticeable but not so much as I would expect from 18%. I ended up mixing it with some dry irish stout which improved it greatly. Otherwise I am not sure I could have finished a glass of it.

Bottle at LCRBM2. Perfumed berry aroma. Orange hue. Flavor is soapy, perfumed. Fruit seems artificial. Soap finish. Cant say I enjoyed this one...

Cloudy red amber color; the head disappears immediately with a fizz. Some aroma of raspberries and alcohol. Medium body strength, some sweetnees, some sour raspberries, tartness; the alcohol is burning and the bitterness at the end is too much for a fruit beer. Almost unpleasant. And I don’t want to remember how much i paid…

2006 bottle...Holy fucking raspberries!!...Fresh ass raspberries..dessert wine scents..kinda like a darker sherry....orange/red color w/ more reddish hues than anything...initial sip...sweet...like a burst..second sip....pure alcohol...dries out the mouth almost instantly...a salty feel and taste w/ a salty caramel-like finish...ok i’m trying this the second day...and it tastes much smoother..more raspberries in the finish as well..this beer definitely needs time to age like a fine wine....very mellow sippin beer...warms the mind and body
