Bottle at home. Pours a pitch black color with a light brown head. Roasted aroma of coffee, vanilla, oak, leather chocolate truffles and liquor. The flavor is even more roasted with more oak, leather, coffee, ash and very dark chocolate. Has a slick and silky mouth feel and lingering, balanced bitterness. The bourbon is well presented along with a nice roasted touch. A real dessert beer.

Bottle. It pours a dense, finger-thick tan head over a black body. The aroma is roasted, in a coffee way, with dry, dark chocolate and a touch of booze. Vanilla. It’s full-bodied, lightly warming and soft on the carbonation, with flavors of dark chocolate, coffee and a little boozy touch. Woody notes tannins and bitterness. Everlasting finish. Perhaps a bit too influenced by the booze, but sure nice anyway. 150522

A black beer, a head is weak but a colour is beautiful, dark brown. Aroma has strong roastiness and black coffee, vanilla, some sweetness. Enjoyable. Taste has strong coffee and roastiness, not totally dry. Only medium bodied, smooth low carbonation. The great aroma, the roasted and coffeeish taste isn’t the same. Enjoyable and very good beer, anyway.
