Bottle from River City Cellars on 02/13/2010. Cloudy white body with a medium frothy white head. Sweet wheat aroma with light tart notes. Tart light citric flavor with a good wheat background. Medium light body with high carbonation.

Pours slightly hazy pale golden color with fluffy white head. Funky wheat aroma. Nice mild tart flavor. Light body with lively carbonation. Crisp and refreshing.

Bottle from NickD717, thanks! Lemon, dust, apple and salt in the aroma. Lemon and apple in the tart flavor. Hints of melon and dust. Amazing drinkability. Thin, but lots of flavor. Very well made Berliner type weisse.

750ml bottle shared at the DC Local tasting. Pours a crystal clear, straw yellow with a nearly clear, slightly cloudy head. Tart aroma, lemons, a bit of a buttery aroma. Flavor is crisp and tart, lemons, grass. Dry finish. Nice and refreshing but a little simple.

Aroma is bready and yeasty with a bit of grassy and a tart finish. Some nutty and husky notes as well. Taste is citrus, bread, grass. Tart throughout. A bit on the thin side. Smooth.

Courtesy of fogdog. Pours murky white rice water with white head. The aroma is a nice mix of grains, funk, some tartness and then a sense of sweet malts. The taste is crisp and fresh with some lemon acidity, a bit of yeast, some watery sweetness, a tad more tartness and then it seem to head into some grainy malts. Nice stuff.

Exciting that bottles of this showed up in OH recently. This one is a 750 and the liquid that pours out is surprising, to say the least. As it pours it is almost clear... as it collects in the glass it looks more like champagne than beer (well, without the big fizzy head.) There’s a little bit of white fizz on the surface, but nothing like a good champagne. I’m definitely interested at this point, but the aromas seem a little lacking. A bit of sweet (huh?) apple juice, a touch of oak or something that gives it a little bit of funky and edgy earthiness and that’s about it. Flavor is a bit of a letdown, too. Maybe I was expecting too much with all the raving that has been done about the brewery, but I expected a grand slam here. As is, this is a fairly watery berliner weisse... it has a nice little tart edge to it, but has quite a bit of apple and bread sweetness to it as well. It comes across as a watery lemonade with some apple juice splashed in there for good measure. Nothing really stands out and asserts itself or takes control of the palate. Maybe it will get better as it warms... we’ll see.

Bottle. Poured a hazy pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma was full of tart lemony notes. Flavor was sweet like lemonade with a slightly winey tartness that didn’t match the lemonade flavor that much. It was very light on the tongue.

12 oz goblet pour at Brouwers Cafe in Seattle, Washington. Pour is fully clouded white yellow with a smallish white head. Looks like juice. Aroma of sour lemon citrus, and earthy horse blanket yeast. Mineral earthiness. Taste is nicely tart sour lemon, lime with the mildly funky yeast behind the tartness. Sour is not aggressive, just nice and soft and smooth - very mellow and integrated, yet enough tart sour to wake it up. Palate is medium - thin, higher carbonation - finish is dry - brightly tart. I was sitting outside in the sun, and this seemed to skunk by the end of the glass. Quite refreshing - went down quick.

From tap at the brewery. Pours almost clear yellow with a small white head. Crisp milky light sourness. Sour and crisp, light milky smoothness. Very authentic. Smooth fruity touch into a dry and light sour finish.
