Tap at Kyoto Ji-Biiru Matsuri 2018. Fruity, honey, ok hops, booze. Nice Belgian yeast character, hops decent, but a bit too boozy and hot.

Cloudy brown amber color. Lots of Yuzu and peppery malty nose. Medium full body. Slightly sweet, Yuzu-ish and peppery, but a bit simplistic. Has kinda effervescent character to it. Interesting but doesn’t take me anywhere special.

Deep golden, almost amber. Bit of white foam at first but overall, not much carbonation. Aroma is quite mild, need to try pretty hard to understand it better. Some honey, sweet malts and just a bit of funk. Not sure if I am getting any herbs in there - but I seem to be getting a bit of brett. Taste is surprisingly light for 8,5% beer, there is trippel sweetness and Belgian candy sugar in the base - and Belgian yeast spices carry on in the lingering finish - but body feels quite thin and not really trippel-like. Which is actually a good thing in my book. Not sure if it has been intentional but it feels as if this beer got also infected with brett and the result is thinner-bodied but very drinkable trippel. I am getting some alcohol warmth now, so yes, maybe it really is 8,5% although it feels just too easygoing for that. Dangerous.
