Can in a delivery from Japan Centre. Was hoping to share this at a larger tasting, but they don't seem to be happening any time soon, and we're eating Japanese food tonight, so thus was shared with the Mrs. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of wheat and light fruit. Taste is sweet, bready. Clean finish, but not a right lot going on.

Bottle from my local Summit store. Pours clear golden with a thick and dense white foam top - that actually stays around for a while. Never seen that with a Kirin beer before. Nose is fruity and fresh, lots of lemony citrus character there. Taste has medium bitterness, more of that lemon, some light - and actually balanced - bitterness helping to bring this experience into successful finish. Some lemon and grapefruit peels in the flavour as well, lingering citrusy bitterness in the finish. Not the greatest beer around but again, for Kirin, not bad at all.

Bottle from the supaa. Big Nelson Sauvin nose, grapefruit, light cat piss, white wine grapes. Clear gold with a big head. Lemony, grapefruit flavor, white grapes big time, less pissy. Light, crisp malts. This works. Nice muscat flavor throughout. Grand Kirin beers have been solid for the most part, better than Spring Valley anyhow, and this is something I would grab again for a train beer.
