An IPA, of course. We’re blending our two approaches to the IPA in this East Meets West IPA. Sierra Nevada’s malt body and profile was blended with the heavy-handed, very late hopping schedule employed by Tree House to create a new, hybrid IPA. Lightly bitter and heavy with citrus-like hop flavor.

Can. Pours crystal clear golden orange. I guess the filtering was enforced by the west coast party of this collaboration. Large pillowy white head, good lacing. Aroma is dank, perfume, citrus, hints of green garlic. Flavor is light plus sweet, medium bitter, sharp, dank, perfume, a tad vegetal. Medium body, soft mouthfeel.

Can from a Lazy Dog. Slightly hazy deep yellow color with a good two finger bubbly white head that persists. Resinous pine dankness on the nose with bits of citrus and juicy tropical fruits. Sweet bready malt flavor with more pine and resin with a hint of earth and grass in the flavor. Pretty tasty IPA.

A16 oz. can. Nose is tropical fruits, mild citrus peel, yeasty, bubblegum. Hops are sweet and fruity, grapefruit, peach, orange. Bitterness is low. I barely get and pine. Not really sure how the East meets west in here. But not bad at all.

Poured from can dated 4/28/17 thanks John hazy golden with a white head. Aromas of caramel fruit floral notes and pine. Taste is tropical fruit malty caramel sweetness some pine in the finish.

Pint can from the 2017 Beer Camp pack. The beer is a light gold, lightly hazy. Big white head on it leaving lots of lacing. The aroma is heavy on orange with tangerine, some lime, lemongrass and some lighter tropical fruit action - kiwi, melon, passion fruit, pineapple, mango kinda noise. Simple malt sweetness in the background. Fairly juicy. Taste is on the sweet side with mild bitterness up front that builds some in the finish. Citrus peel with a little peppery, grassy spice. Fairly strong sugary malt backbone in there. Slick mouthfeel with some heft. It reminds me of the first batch of Hoptimum with that citrus hoppiness, fair bit of sweetness and light but slick feel. Enjoyable enough but I don’t really see any relation to NEIPA, beyond a vague nod toward lower bitterness.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Epsom Circle Market. Appearance is hazy light orange-yellow with green tinges at the edges, light sparkle, finger-width fizzy white head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong tropical fruits and citrus (specifically mangoes and lemon), grapefruit with light, late earthy bitterness over discernible malt backbone. Taste is grapefruit, citrus with late resin bitter and light cracker malt. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, average carbonation and bitter finish. Overall, this would have been amazing if the taste matched the aroma but it falls a little short. Still quite good and enjoyable.
