Draft @ 13th Bistro Double IPA Festival, Hayward, CA. Pours a golden color with a white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter citrus and grapefruit aroma. Fruity malty very hoppy bitter citrus flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter citrus finish.

A hazed dark amber ipa with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with vinous notes, treacle, light resinous notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits, vinous character, resinous hops, light mineral notes, still decent for 8 years.

22oz bottle pours a clear orange with some cloudy white head. Nose is musty, pine, orange, lemon rind, soap, floral. Flavor has more bitterness, more than the nose would hint, orange pith, lemon, heavy soap. Full, bracingly bitter finish. Not my favorite from Knee Deep.

Bottle thanks to Brian! Pours a clear amber with a gray head that dissipates to the edges quickly. Aroma has a good amount of grassy hops with a bit of sweet grains. Flavor begins with sweet grains with a growing grass note and a hint of resiny citrus.

22oz bottle-shared by jtclockwork-aggressive pour gives a nice rice/foamy offwhite head-gold. A-tropical/perfumy, 2nd sweet lt/med malt-caramel. T-tropical/perfumy hops. Finish is cologne and long, then metallic. Stopped after 10oz so I wouldn’t drop the score further. 3.0

Bottle. Pours cloudy gold with white head. Nose is fantastic - lots of mango, tropical fruits and caramel malt with hints of perfumy hops. Taste is not good at all. Tons of cologne and perfume with some tiny semblance of IPA somewhere. Almost straight up cologne in the finish. Really disappointing. Body on the lighter side of medium for a triple IPA. If it wasn’t for the nose this would be closer to a 2.1-2.2 rating.

Bottle. Amber beer with a dark cream head. Big grapefruit and summer fruit saroma. Grapefruit and pine resin flavor with light caramel. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Pine resin and earthiness lingers with grapefruit and light caramel.

22oz bottle from Bine and Vine. 11.3% what!!?? Will this rock my world or what? Well it pours out with a crystal clear copper body with thin gold edges and supporting a thin near white head of foam. The aroma offers up a bold mix of malt sweetened pine and citrus hops and a bit of mango like tropical fruitiness around the edges. Overall the aroma seems timid in strength and struggling to get out of the glass. The taste is thick with bitter hop resin that seems to be restrained, poorly, by malt sweetness. The hop bitterness is coming from firm to robust levels of pine and grapefruit and some mango like hoppy goodness where a thicket of malt sweetness tries to smooth out the bitterness. This is a pretty darn good beer.

Aroma is almost all hops. Lots of tropical fruit, peaches, orange and other citrus, an pine resin. A touch of caramel malt in the aroma. Some alcohol in aroma and a touch fusel, but not too bad. Pours a clear gold with copper notes an slightly off white head that retains a thin layer on top and along the edges for quite some time. The flavor is similar to the aroma but the hops aren't as assertive. The hop flavor is still fruity with citrus and pine, but there is a lot more caramel malt character as well. The bitterness is strong and there is a touch of hop astringency, but it's not too bad. The alcohol is present in the flavor but only in the finish and it helps clear the malt sweetness. The mouthfeel is smooth and somewhat creamy. There is low astringency from the hops. Lots of warming character from the alcohol. A bit sweet, but too be expected for this high of alcohol content. Overall a pretty good beer, but I think I just don't like triple IPAs; too much alcohol for me. I like boozy stouts and hop bomb DIPAs but triple IPAs are too much for me. This is a fairly good version though; the alcohol isn't overpowering and the hops and malt are balanced. I guess I would like less caramel though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
