On tap at Pivoteka Zagreb. Unclear amber/brownish coloured, small off-white head, dried fruits and alcohol in the nose. Toasted malt, caramel, wood, dried fruits, distinct presence of bourbon and dry alcoholic finish. Balanced alcohol.

On tap at Pivoteka, Zagreb. Shared with Višnja 666! Murky brown, no head. Vanilla, nutty, wooden and smoke from whisky barrel. Strong whiskey presence. Dry, boozy. Some sweetness underneath. Creamy and milky, very strong. Medium to full body, moderate lasting dry and boozy finish. Good BA, quite impressive. 838315=3.7

Tap at Pivoteka. Misty brown body, no head, no carbonation. Soft, sweetish aroma, entirely dominated by the oak and bourbon, on some maltiness. Pleasant and not too alcoholic. Creamy, very creamy aroma, dried berry cream fantastically smooth and well rounded. Dry grainy touches too. Just a vague bitterish touch in the touch mixing with light tannins. Woody notes and some alcohol do break through later but damn, damn this is smooth. And not excessivelly sweet either, just enough.

(330ml bottle sample @ Cafe de Koffer, Groningen, Aug 21/17) Pours a clear mahogany colour with a cream coloured head. Notes are extremely sweet treacle and toffee, vanilla, honey, jammy fruits, dates, raisins, oak, moderate bourbon, heavy malty overall with fairly balanced barrel. Light bitterness on the finish with wood, subtle alcohol. Medium-full and syrupy with low carbonation. Quite good overall, but a bit sweet for me with less balanced bitterness than I would like in this style.

Tap @ Kanaal, Sofia. Smell of raisins, oak, rum. Muddy brown colour, tiny brown head. Aroma of alcohol, rum, oak, malt, cough mixture. Very soft carbon. Very viscous, slick texture. Extremely sweet.

Bottle, 12.4%. Hazy dark amber/brown with medium beige head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted, dusty, dark fruit,tins ripe fruit, oak and wood. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, oak, wood, ripe fruit, little vanilla, dark fruit, warming and notes of alcohol.

Draught @ 8th. BBF 2016 [ 8th Borefts Beer Festival 2016 ] @ Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands. [ As De Molen Weer & Wind (2016) ].Clear medium to dark amber colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, bread, dried fruit, sweet malt, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, bread, sweet malt, alcohol - bourbon - vanilla, dried fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20160923] 7-3-8-4-15

Aus der Flasche (bbe 2041-12-27) 2017-06 getrunken. Das ist ein fettes Belgian Sweet Barley Wine. GEILES ZEUG! Doch das Ding hat jetzt schon seine Süße abgebaut und wird komplexer. Da geht sicher in den nächsten Monaten/Jahren noch was. Hier noch mal ein großes Danke an den DunklerMessias für die Flasche.(10/4/10/5/19) Aus der Flasche (bbe 2041-12-27) 2018-12 getrunken. In den fast 2 Jahren hat sich das Anfang fette Belgian Sweet Barley Wine zu einen eleganten fruchtigen Barley Wine verändert. Die Süsse wurde fast komplett abgebaut und es haben sich rote Waldfruchtaromen gebildet. Ich bleibe dabei was für ein GEILES ZEUG! (10/4/10/5/20)
