This beer harkens back to a time when beer was brewed the old, or “Alt” way. NW Alt was brewed in partnership with Horseshoe Lake hop farm, we used Willamette, Cascade, and Mt. Hood hops from their farm.

With encouragement from family and a number of friends, Rick started Heater Allen in April of 2007. The brewery started with a glorified home-brew system of 20 gallon batches. After the initial success of the brewery a 6 BBL system was purchased and installed in the spring of 2008. In late fall of 2013 a brand new 15 BBL system was installed to keep up with growing demand. Yearly barrel production as of end of 2017 was approximately 1250 barrels.

Bottle. Brown beer with a dark cream head. Sweet malt and light caramel aroma. Caramel and light spice flavor with light dark fruit. Medium bodied. Earth and mineral notes linger with caramel and light dark fruit.

Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark copper with a beige head. Nice clean dark caramel aroma with a touch of noble hop. Med body. Flavor is smooth creamy caramel with spicy hop. Delicate in a way. Finishes bitter and not too dry. Dry enough tho.

On tap at Belmont. Where you at 3/4? Pours a dark ruddy copper color with a medium off-white almost beige head. The aroma is big sweet malts, some berries and toffee. The flavor is wonderful and quite seasonal: caramel, earthy, sweeter fruit maybe pomegranate, some strawberry perhaps, candied fruit. But really its core isn’t super sweet but clean and smooth. Very nice. I could drink a liter...or two.
