bottle provided by JStax, thanks! Poured a dark, clear ruby color with a wispy off-white head. Aroma of booze, port, toffee. Flavor was bourbon, toffee, and spices. Not a lot of pumpkin or even pumpkin pie in this, but that’s okay. very drinkable given the abv.

Bottle pour split. Pours a near black with a fading tan head. Huge, super sweet aroma, and a little boozy. A lot of raisin flavor, with a bunch of spice. Bourbon hints all throughout as well. Overly sweet, but the spice begins to attempt to balance it out a bit. Super heavy beer. Had fun with this one.

Bottle courtesy of JStax, thanks! Clear deep maroon color, scant bubbles. Aroma of burnt licorice, port wine, cocoa. Taste is big, boozy burnt buttersotch, maybe subtle spice. Holy cow, this is a big one.

Sample at the tap room/brewery. Pours a jet black color with a minimal off-white head that dissipates quickly to a sparse outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, bourbon and pumpkin spice. Full-bodied and boozy with flavors of charred malt, oaky bourbon, chocolate and pumpkin pie (but not in a sweet Pumking way). The finish is roasty with an oaky vanilla, bourbon and spice aftertaste. Very enjoyable all around.

Bottle @ home, picked up at the release. $12/bottle. For those of you Math majors out there, that comes out to $1/oz so it’s a lot of cred. Pours a deep brown appearance with a lasting dark brown head. Quite a bit of pumpkin in the nose along with apple, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg. Smells like pumpkin pie with a little bit of retronasal burn but not bad. Medium plus body. Pretty heavy alcohol. Tingly mouth feel. Gooey caramel, toffee flavor. Some white fruits and a lot of spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, clove). The whiskey isn’t that overwhelming but the alcohol is very noticeable. Definitely a sipper. Gooey and high boost. I don’t think I like this as well as Rumpkin but honestly, I don’t really enjoy Rumpkin as much as I used to. I’m sure this will be pretty polarizing with some loving it and some hating it. In my mind, it’s just fine.
