Bottle(as Greifenklau Märzen): Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, mid-sized loose off-white head that slowly collapses; moderate sweetish toasty nose, nutty traces, dark malt and herbal hops in the background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, quite soft, soft nutty-malty finish. Pretty good…

Tap at the brewery. Described by the waitress as “Dunkles Märzen,” but posted on the wall as “Rotes Märzen.” Cloudy dark brown with orange tints and a tall, fine head. Malty caramel nose, a bit worty, brown sugar. The flavor is sweet but burnt caramel and brown sugar. Very sweet and somewhat roasty. Body is thin and sugary. This is not really my thing, although it is interesting. The burnt caramel gets to me.
