Pure malt amber ale, brewed with 100% barley malt. Bastola is a dry beer with an intense taste and a slight bitterness, furthermore it has an aftertaste of caramel and hazelnut due to the use of special malts. Its head is thick, creamy and adherent. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, top-fermentedand second fermentation in the bottle. 23 EBC.

Setting new standards in mediocrity.

330 ml bottle, as Birra Flea Bastola Imperial Red Ale, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.9%. Cloudy reddish brown colour, small and thin white head. Aroma of malts, hints of ripe berries. Modest carbonation. The flavour is sweet and malty, hints of berries and caramel. Not much to write home about here.

Tap at Gar Eden. Fruity, pear and yeasty aroma. Taste is similar, pear again, yeasty and malty, not so bitter. Belgian feel in its sweet yeastiness. Nutty. Quite nice. Maybe this is the end of the keg as it's pretty cloudy.

Bottle, gift from my brother. Hazy amber body with a thin beige head that fades. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of caramelised nuts. Flavour of toffee and red wine. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Rich and sweet. Decent.

Cloudy medium amber colour, small frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma toasted malts, toffee, butter scotch, honey, biscuit, light apricot. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, caramel, toffee, fruity, some biscuit. Sweetbitter aftertaste, sticky sugar, bit boozy, light spicy touch. Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, unbalanced impression, too sweet for a bitter but otherwise a nice brew.
