This is an India Session Ale, which means all the hoppy goodness of a legit IPA, but with less alcohol. Huge citrus and floral aromas greet the nose from the stacks of Citra and Cascade hops added toward the end of the boil and in the whirlpool. The flavour is extremely citrus forward with just a touch of light caramel malt, giving way to a mild, hoppy finish, coaxing yet another sip. In short, it’s a beer that bears repeating.

Bottled. Amber colour with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma is citrus, some dill and mild herbal tones. Flavour is grapefruit, lychee and some dill with mild herbal and some sweet malts as well. Interesting, considering what hops are in it.

Keg at the brewpub, 8/16/16. Slightly hazy amber, large creamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of floral, citrus, lemony hops, pale malt. The taste is grapefruit and pale malt. Thin-medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness.

From a work event: pours golden orange with a white head. Aroma is light citrus. Taste is lightly bitter. Easy to drink but amply bodied. What it should I suppose.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear pale amber, small head. Citrusy dill aroma. Mid dry with light-medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Hop driven with lychee, grapefruit and dill. Notes of caramel. Balanced bitter finish. Another solid Lakefront offering.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 11/19/2015. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, light honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with great complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, pineapple, pine, light honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.3%. Overall this is an excellent session IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours hazy darkish gold with a white head. Aroma of light stone fruit and mild caramel. Med minus body. Flavor is not all that flavorful. There’s fruit and caramel, and the bitter is present, but though the impression is rather strong, it seems lacking in flavor. Still, I’d drink it, if I needed a beer.

Sampled from the tap at the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest. Pours a clear gold with a slight orange hue and a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma combines pine, grass and grapefruit with a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has notes of sweet grain, grass, bread and a bit of sweet citrus.
