2XSMASH is the newest in our line of single malt and single hop India Pale Ales, brewed with Mosaic hops and Special pale malt. Even simplified to one variety of hop and one type of malt, it is amazing how complex the flavor is. Mosaic hops are known for their luxurious tropical citrus notes like passionfruit and work absolutely brilliantly with the richness of Special pale malt. Cheers!

Bottled. Pale amber-orange, color, hazy, with a fine lacy head. Fresh fruity hop nose, grass, peach, orange. Sweet, fruity flavor, oranges, grapes, biscuits, a touch of metal, melon. Very tasty, just a bit too sweet.

Stamped in green at the bottom of the bottle, it says \"DOB 03/13/14.\"
Yesterday one was poured into a snifter, today one was poured into a pint glass. There really wasn’t much difference other than it seemed like the head got in the way yesterday and didn’t allow me to properly do the beer its justice.
The appearance was a nice hazy yet somewhat transparent through a golden amber color. The head was a nice two fingers worth of white foaminess that once it dies, there’s some nice clingy lacing along with some nice foamy valley of what’s left of the head.
The smell had a decent blend of sweet citrus to sweet malt.
The taste was mainly the same. The aftertaste was pure citrus sticky sweetness. It had a nice dry finish.
On the palate, it sat at/about a light to medium in body and a pretty good sessionable aspect about it. The carbonation was pretty smooth but still had a nice bittersweet drying aspect running across my tongue.
Overall, this was a pretty good APA more than worthy of coming back to.

12oz bottle from Wegman’s, Buffalo, NY. Golden amber with a thin white head; light tropical fruit aroma; pleasant tropical fruit taste with some underlying resinous hops and biscuity malts; and a very moreish finish that masks the alcohol very well - and perhaps even has the herbal mint and black pepper mentioned in the blurb. Very good.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks zvikar. Golden with an off-white head. Fruity hops aroma, slightly stale, with a bit of malt. Flavor has some sweetish malt, some slightly stale hoppiness, a bit of fruitiness and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied. Could be fresher.

Bottle: Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours medium golden with an inch of off-white head. Smells of grapefruit, pine, and fruit juice. Tastes of orange peel and grapefruit.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home on a chilly early April Wednesday night after the gym. Appearance is a lightly cloudy gold with a rich and bubbly white head. Aroma of really potent citrus/pine hops, definitely tropical fruit notes, as well as dare I say a crisp pilsener-esque aroma. Taste is really nice, definitely hoppy without being too bitter, moderate to high carbonation, definitely grainy as well. I’m liking this one, not really a sessionable ale but a nice sipper.

12oz bottle. Bright yellow-tan body with some floaties. Creamy and easy body, I would have guessed this was a session beer....very easy drinking for 8.1% Clean, exemplary beer. A whole lot of flavor and depth. Minty spearmint, pine, papaya...interesting cool, crisp, dry hop tones. Toasty malt with a hint of chewiness. Really exceptional beer, one of my favorite American beers in recent memory.

The Sampler, Brooklyn 12oz: Pours copper with a white head. Aroma is rather fruity, with definite pine and herbal notes in there. I wouldn’t say that the bitterness is obscenely high. Nice and spicy. My bartender is convinced that this was brewed with Mosaic hops. I find it strange that they don’t tell you when the whole purpose is that this is a single hop DIPA.
