This golden sparkling blond ale was brewed to pay homage to a 1000-year tradition rooted in Cologne, Germany. Clear, crisp and easy to drink, the Kolsch of today is lighter than the "House" beer that was served in Cologne 200 years ago - the city that made Kolsch famous. We hope you’ll enjoy it!

Honey aroma. Amber color medium white head. Somewhat dry taste of beans and barley. Nice hop finish.

Clean ubiquitous pale yellow american lager appearance. Refined, nearly sweet aroma. Good fizzy carbonation greets the tongue on the first taste, not overwhelming. Sweet aroma immediately increases. Slightly bitter and more stronger than a pale yellow. Fruit hints are combining in the nose and on the taste buds. Finish is at first relatively mild bitter hops/malt but the sensation is short lived. No definable Saranac residual flavors. Surpizingly I have not tasted many koelsch, this is better than flying dog tire bite and Schell Zommerfest.

Annehmbar. Test vom 1.10.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,8,9,9,10,9 - 8,80

12oz bottle-pours a big foamy white head with gold color. Aroma is funky grain, musty, hint of citrus. Taste is musty, funky grain, mild. Thin finish. OK carbonation.

Pours a slightly cloudy yellow color with tiny rising bubbles and a thin white head that dissipates fast. Minimal lacing. Weak aroma of hops and spices. Light-bodied and crisp with light zesty hops and citrus that does not stick around very long. Almost like a "light" Kölsch if that is not too redundant. The finish is crisp and bubbly with a bit of sweet fruit and spice. Not a whole lot to this one, I see no reason why they couldn’t give it some more pizzazz.

Very borderline stuff here. Pours a darker golden than you might expect with an artificial looking head, faded fast, then sat still in the glass. Aroma was inviting, with a mild lemon component paired with a slightly floral and slightly citric hop component, coupled with a touch of toasted bread. Flavor was not up to par, however, with a bit of corny sweetness up front, ending in a weak and slightly tart finish.

Bottle. Not too bad, nothing overly special. A little bitter and pretty weak, but what do you expect from the Matt Brewing Company? Decent, but not spectacular.

Bottle. Golden with almost no head. Slight wheaty armoa, but not much of one. A bit flavorless... it has a tinge of something in there, but it’s not distinguishable. Lightly tangy andmetallic... dry finish.

Golden beer with a creamy white head. Faint grassy malt in aroma. In mouth, crisp malt, and light hops, more like a non-descript lager. Lighter bodied. Not impressed by this.

Bottle. Mild maple syrup aroma. Light amber color with little head. Sweet syrup and corn flavor. Little body - not much of a resemblance to it’s German namesake.
