Having brewed in South Boston since 1987, it was probably only a matter of time before we decided to commemorate St. Patrick’s Day (Evacuation Day - coincidentally a holiday - in Boston). It’s a beer that we thought would pair well with the late winter as well: malty enough to stand up to the cold but balanced enough to hint at Spring.
Description - Harpoon Celtic Ale features a deep ruby color, medium body, and a balanced malt bill created by Irish Ale malt and a touch of roasted barley. Rich in tradition and sessionable in character, Harpoon Celtic is the ideal Spring seasonal. Available on tap: January-March.

Draft. Pours a reddis amber coloration. Some hops. Drinkable but nothing spectacular going on here.

16 oz pour on draft at Legal Test Kitchen in Boston. Served in a Harpoon glass. Clear dark amber with off-white head. Aromas of caramel, dark fruit, malt. Tastes of caramel, toffee, malt, light cocoa and biscuit, toasty notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Solid.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a clear amber colored body with some carbonation seen rising and a creamy lasting white head, it leaves ringy foamy lacing.
The smell had roasty malts and caramel, light hops ever so slightly in the background.
The taste takes the caramel and comes back and has some roastiness to it.
The palate sat about a medium, sessionable, smooth, no aftertaste, quick caramel finish.
Overall, this is not a bad beer, but nothing to scream about, might have again, unsure?

Tap at Macgregors. Nice malty nose, caramel, cherry, gum balls. Nose is a bit faint, but flavor is right on, very malty and rounded. Slight roasting. Very drinkable.

12oz bottle thanks to Phil
Clear amber with a small beige head, no lacing. Aroma of caramel, toasted malts, sweet and dark fruit. Flavors of roasted malts, sweet caramel and wet wood
OK, but I wouldn’t have another

Total Wine, Fairfax 12oz: Pours amber with a whitish head. Caramel malts are really nice. Nice and a little sweet. A lot of toffee. Even though this was past the best before date, and it is still pretty nice. No signs of the age. Anyway, it is nice and sessionable.

Bottle. Rich amber/copper ber with a dark cream head. Toasted malt aroma. Malt and light caramel flavor with light citrus. Medium bodied. Malt and light citrus lingers with light caramel.
