Bottle from the fish supermarket place that Hakone beer has. Bit if a strange one. Chocolate and strawberries. Medium to dark brown colour with small golden bubbly head. Aroma is faint strawberry, bit of stinkiness, light roastiness, chocolate and cream and something chemical. Taste is not the greatest. Initial alcohol hit (and it's only 6%!), unusual sharpness. Finish is a slow fade of chocolate and strawberry creaminess and is not too bad. Boozy hit is not too good though. Bit strange on the palate too, quite thin alongside the booze. Weird. Maybe this is past its best, or maybe it is just a bit of a strange idea for a beer.

Tap at iBrew. Dark malt and chocolate nose, with some umami, light strawberry. Black, with a fine, medium head. Sweeter flavor, fruity, with strawberries coming through nicely, dark cacao, light roastiness. Lightly tangy in the finish. Decent stuff. The malt profile is a bit weak and thin, though, as if they didn’t care much about the base beer. Would like to see them do this with their stout instead.
