As projects go, beer and chocolate is probably about as good as it gets. The head on collision of a famous British beer maker with an innovative chocolate maker has been as exciting as it has been rewarding with results that taste as good as the pedigree should suggest. We think of this creation as a well balanced and fulfilling drink with a hint of chocolate that is both unexpected and beautifully complimentary.

Bottle from Booths, Media City. Golden with a thin head. Has a lager texture, but there’s lots of chocolate in both aroma and taste that’s somewhat dry, but gives it much more character and flavour than its given style would usually command.

330 ml bottle. Big surprise to see a crystal clear, golden body with a rather big, foamy white head beer with such a pronounced chocolate aroma. This is more what to expect from a stout or porter. Anyway, a clear chocolate aroma with a hint of vanilla and grassy hops. Flavor is also dominated by chocolate and vanilla, still with a golden lager flavor in the background. Low bitterness, just a hint of grassy hops. Medium body and even chocolate in aftertaste. Not a great beer in any way, but sure very fun to explore, this one proves that craft brewers got a great sense of humor. Quite unusually and definitively not bad. Just gotta love it somehow.

Aroma of sour Horlicks, doesn't taste much better than that either.

Gylden brun klar med to fingre høyt hvitt skum. Luktet oboy og noe honning. Lett. Smaker også noe oboy, så den forsvarer navnet. Kort lett bitter avsluttning. God, litt annerledes lager

330ml bottle. Pours gold with a medium head. Aroma is orange chocolate, honey and corn. Taste is watery. Some orange to start and corn on the finish. Artificial chocolate aftertaste.

bottle from Tesco Newton Abbot. Amber colour with a tiny off-white head, chocolatey nose. Malty andquite sweet with lots of chocolate, not far from being artificial.

330ml bottle from Tesco. Pours clear amber with a short-lived white head. Aromas of chocolate, the sort in Roses our Quality Street, along with that kind of artificial fruit-flavoured filling. Nutty too. Taste is sweet, more nutty, cheap chocolate. Sweet, thin finish

Bottle shared thanks to Scotty001. Clear golden with barely any head. Cocoa, fake chocolate aroma, bitter grassy notes, honey, fudge. Medium sweet with soft bitter finish. Light to medium bodied with low carbonation. Not really my thing.

Bottle shared thanks to Scotty001. Pours clear dark golden with a small off white head. Aroma has massive chocolate and cocoa overpowering anything else. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter, with a little fruity note behind the chocolate in the palate. Light to light medium bodied with soft carbonation.
