Thick, rich and excessively decadent, this beer aims to bring back childhood memories. Brewed with aromas.

The brewed and canned in Toronto version. Can LCBO. Wow Thick roasted malt, sweetness, a bit of booze, nuttiness a pastry richness. Excellent.

Thursday 16th October 2025. Cobweb tasting session with four friends, almost every beer being very old or just 'out of date' (mostly very old). My place being the venue. Cheers Mat for the 33cl bottle of this old beauty, it still had plenty of flavour and had kept it's condition fairly well, small head on pouring and a rich chocolate taste. Obviously not at it's best, but certainly drinkable and interesting.

A near black body with a fuffy, well laced deep tan head. Pungent nose featuring ground peacans, toffee, dark chocolate syrup, marshmallow and coffee. Similarly sumptuous taste profile. Fresh peacans, molasses, rich chocolate cake, coffee, chocolate ice cream, marshmallow, candy with hops and roasted malt in the undertaste. A slightly ashy, dry finish. Slick, dense, with a creamy finish. Top Pocket!

Bottle at home, köszi Panni! Pours jet black with a thick and oily body and no head whatsoever. Nose is so dessert it's unreal. It's chocolate, coffee, poppy seed, vanilla and nuts, with a hint of cinnamon. In taste it's slightly more moderate, but still right there, even though the sweetness becomes overwhelming by the end and there's a bit of an alcohol burn, too. It's medium and creamy bodied with soft carbo, drinks surprisingly easy and well below the ABV. Definitely a great beer to kick 2019 off with.

Bottle. Dark brown, almost black body with a small brown head. Heavy aroma of dark malt, coffee, milk chocolate, toffee and vanilla. Flavor is like aroma, lots of sweet goodies and definitively sweet, but somehow I don’t get the feeling of over sweet here, there is some kind of a balance here actually. Desert in a bottle, and it tastes damn god.

A black beer, a head is brown and almost medium. Aroma is great, rich and smooth chocolate, vanilla, nuts, cappuchino. Taste is also as great as the aroma, strong chocolate, coffee, vanilla and nuts, some marzipan. Coffee in the end. Full bodied, smooth slippery, not sticky. Even the high alc. %, this beer is very easily to drink. Marvellous beer with strong chocolate, perfectly unique.

From tap at Oedipus International Beer Festival 2016. Smelling this beer is a feast all by itself. Then the aroma. Intense chocolate fudge, pecan nuts, chocolate cake, mocha, dark malt, brownies, vanilla. Flavour is sweet and slightly boozy. Still, this is dangerously drinkable. Body is rich, full and creamy. Wow, close to perfect for a dessert Stout in my book. I’ll be on the lookout for bottles of this gem.
