Hazy amber coloured body with a copper glow and a very thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of fresh light piney hops, some light sugars, a bit of caramel, a good strong malty note and some strong apricots and peaches - potent. Light to Medium-bodied; Nice assertive piney and earthy hoppiness with a good caramel sweetness soon afterwards, a strong malt backbone throguhout and a piney bitterness at the end from the hops. Aftertaste is almost all bitterness with some light sweetness throughout the finish. Overall, a good IPA, not great, but a good balance of malt and hops and a good caramel sweetness noticeable at all stages make this an IPA worth drinking a few more of. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased at Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 13-February-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 03-April-2011.

22 ounce bottle from Total Wine West Richmond, VA. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a large pillowy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of apple, citrus hops, some faint resin and metallic notes. The taste is bitter citrus hops and apples. Not much maltiness to speak of. Medium bodied.

Orange peel aroma, maybe a little grapefruit peel. Cloudy orange, thin head, some lacing. Orange peel, moderate bitterness. Bitterness increases in the finish with a more piney, dirty, and oaky character. Good combination of hops gives it an all hop complexity. Surprisingly woody for an ordinary non-barrel aged IPA. Good stuff!

Bottle shared by sarro. Poured a hazy amber with a white head that slowly dissipated to the edges. Aroma was quite malty with a bit of backing pine hops. Flavor began with a grains and bread with a pine bitterness growing through the finish.

12oz shorty bottle. Thick orange-brown color with a thick, foamy tan head. Earthy seawater dry hoppy aroma, quite nice. Boldly thick stuff, quite nice. Lots of solid malt depth, with a an impressive bitter backbone. This really packs in a lot of flavor for a beer of 5.25%. Toasty sweet hop syrup aftertaste. This is a great beer.

Hazy bronze pour with off-white head. Aroma of citrus — grapefruit mainly — and burnt toast with a hint of paint. The flavor is moderately bitter with a lightly sweet backbone. Medium body and slightly sticky texture. Bitter finish. Average.

On tap at Brewery/Restaurant. Kind of a dark copper color with thin head. The aroma was tough to pick up. Maybe it’s the restaurant and HVAC breeze. I could just pick up some citrus hops. Really nothing else. The taste was bright grapefruit hops and some pine. It wasn’t a lot of hops for an IPA and there really wasn’t the OG I expect out of an IPA either. There was some light maltiness to help balance out the hop side. From the taste it seems more like a Pale. A little weak for an IPA. Regardless, tasty beer.
