Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours orange/brown with a beige head. Aroma is pretty malty with some veg note. Med body. flavor is malty, a bit nutty, with chocolate. Sadly not dank for me, but it’s well balanced and tasty.

Draught at Tadg’s. Nose of chocolate, caramel, light fruits, something peppery. Flavor similar. Not a whole lot of bold malts as you would expect in a brown, not too sweet, a bit spicy and peppery, though I was not told it was hemp in it, and would never have guessed. Maybe a touch of refer in the nose after being told. Decent, but not that special.

Draught. Poured red brown with very little head. Aroma was unfamiliar at first and then it struck me, sea water and wet rope. Flavour of syrup and dagga, rather more sweetness than is decent in a beer. Almost syrupy body. More hemp and a tiny bit of malt in the finish. The beer was not as good as my rating, but I give Caldera credit for trying something new.
