Sample at the Barrel House. Cloudy ruddy-brown color with a medium light beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, dark fruit, yeast and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, black cherry, earthy yeast and malt. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and cherry aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Live from the barrel tap at the brewpub. Pours a near black with a red tint. Cola fizzy head. Aroma is maple syrup like with some sweet fruit. Super tart, which I love with some sweet berry and cherry flavor up front. Complimented with a dark fruit finish and a long, super sour finish. Winish. Heavy beer without that heavy of a flavor. Awesome stuff.

Nutty brown colour with haze, aroma is cherry, rich dark malts, barrel, touch of acetic. Sweet front, gaining dark malt and clean acidic complexity, cherry finish with straightforward cherry, a touch of oak. Alcohol completely hidden. Utterly gorgeous.

On tap at Cascade, pours a deep dark amber / mahogany with a small tan head. Aroma brings out sour cherries, red wine barrels, bourbon, and wood. Flavour brings out sour cherries, vanilla, bourbon, wood, and vinous notes. Quite woody, with the cherries adding a wonderful complexity. Fairly acidic and vinegary, perhaps more so than the base beer. Great stuff.

On tap at the Barrel House. Pours a dark very red brown color with a small white head. I had a big glass of this, subsequently got buzzed quick. A huge nose of cherries, bourbon, rich wood. The flavor is mostly sweet totally natural cherries, vanilla, bourbon, very woody, light base stout elements, some tartness especially tart cherries. Wonderful beer. Superb palate. Overall, the heart of this is certainly the cherries. A beast.
