Tap at Watering Hole. Amber dark golden colour, small bubbly off white head. Aroma is bit fruity, quite caramel malty, but not too sweet. Taste is slightly sweet and nicely fruity, apples maybe. Bit of caramel in there too. Not the most exciting Aqula beer, but still solidly nice. Slight lemony bitterness in the finish too.

From a plastic cup @ Japan Brewers Cup Festival 2014. Pours nice copper-amber colour, nice foam even if it’s a plastic cup. Aroma is not very strong, some yeast seems to be strong, slight caramel. Taste has some exiting interplay between hop bitterness and malt sweetness. Fruity and bittersweet aftertaste. Very nice beer, I could session it easily.

Draught at Castle West as Aqula Amber. Huge hoppy nose, Nelson Sav? Light caramel malt behind. Glowing orange amber with a beautiful fine head. Light but definite caramel malt flavor, rich and tasty but out-shone by grassy, dirty citrus hops. The subtle maltiness is great. Wickedly bitter—maybe too much. Full body but not heavy. Great.

Deep amber. Lots of crystal malts, apricots and earthiness. Solid malt backbone perfectly balances the hops. Some sourness but not too much. Moderately aggressive hoppy finish. Wow, renewed respect for these guys. Solid effort.
