With 13% alcohol this Imperial Stout pours black with a thick fluffy tan head. Aromas are sweet filled with vanilla. Palate starts with milky sweetness and offers roasted malts, chocolate and coffee.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver, 12% ABV, bb 13/02/2029
Black colour. Rather oily, some aroma of nuts, walnut, vanilla extract. Moderately sweet, some robacco, a bit earthy, roasted malts, some coffee.
Good, but overpriced.

330ml can at Alex's. Appearance: very dark brown with the same head. Aroma: lots of vanilla, some lacto, maybe maple and coffee. Taste: along the same lines with noticeable bitterness. Overall: pretty good.

Black with a minimal light brown head. Aroma of vanilla, coffee and some oatmeal sense. Sweet with a warm vanilla and coffee end, a bit alc sense.

Can. Malty aroma and taste, vanilla, chocolate, nuts, light coffee notes, light sweet, medium bitter. Full body, snooth oily texture, malty chocolate and vanilla bitter sweet finish with light warming alcohol at the absolute finish. Very good.

Can shared by Andrew, thanks! Pours black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice vanilla with chocolate, roasted malts and a bit of dark grains supporting. Flavor has a great chocolate and vanilla combination with sweet dark grains backing.

Tap at the Before 9 Scandinavian Event. Mikkeller Beer Geek Vanilla Shake 13% Pitch black with a ruby edge and a big creamy vanilla shake. Smooth medium body with lots of sweetness and a sort of floral vanilla lactose flavor. A bit of heat as it hits the pit of your stomach. Nice but a bit too sweetly artificial for me.

A fortunate purchase at Total Wine in Santa Fe in the early fall, I am ready try on a warmish winter evening. Mikkeller has always delivered for me, let's see if that continues with their Vanilla Shake. Bottled on 2/23/17 as says on the cap. Poured into a short beer glass I see a darker than Hades body with a foamy, mahogany head. A whiff gives the expected vanilla, some chocolate and berry. I take a long drink. Very interesting. The vanilla remains, sweet dark chocolate, roasted pecans and strawberry. A strong finishing bitterness, thank you very much. Some slight heat from the 13%. Really good, wish I had bought more than one.
