A bit late for Christmas beer, but never mind. Pours a dark amber color topped with a decent slightly off color head. The aroma is quite strong - hoppy, slightly soury and yeasty. The taste is mild and creamy. There’s some malts and roasty feel, as well as some nice easy bitterness. A very decent one.

Bottled. A brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and roasted bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and bread, leading to a dry and lightly bitter finish. The body is light.

Dec 2009: 33cl Brown bottle, poured into a Gordon’s Thistle shaped glass. Brewed 23 Sept 09, best before 23 Jan 10. Ruby red body, clear. Off-white head, thin but a full covering throughout the tasting. Caramel and malts in the nose, but no huge aroma. Thin malt taste, a bit disappointing to be honest, no depth or fullness of body. Too watery for a decent Christmas beer and no spice or warmth to be found within it. Glad it was a small bottle, started looking for something to eat half way through the review because I found the beer boring and bland.

Laffer Malzantrunk in wässriger Umgebung. 7/6/7/6/6/6

bottle. Clear deep brown colour. Similar to the Battin Christmas beer, also full of chocolate, roasetd malts and caramel. Well-balanced, rather nice.
