This strong ale has a deep amber colour, and is a premium, full bodied English style ale with that extra bit of alcohol content for more character and depth. Farsons Double Red Strong Ale is brewed with high quality malt and traditional English hops. Its strong, fresh character, with a pleasant hoppy bitterness, is balanced by some malty sweetness. Farsons Double Red is a well-balanced, satisfying British style amber ale with a snappy hop finish.

Nitro can. Amber with a cream head that settles to a cm. Not much aroma - weedy with light toffee. Flat, dull texture. Sweet with caramel and some stewed fruit, a touch of roast, dull bitterness. Didn't mind the Blue Label but this one is not good - mostly in the sense of strong without excuse and that drinking through cotton wool effect that nitro sometime has.

Shrewsbury Beer Share Group Meeting, Chez Sophie; 28th Oct 2019. Cheers Mat for this offering. 33cl bottle, just out of date. Clear mahogany body, off-white topping. Malty and like a poor 'Irish Red' in nature.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Oct 19, brought by me. Pours a deep golden amber, faint mist, good off-white froth. Aroma bitter, malt. Some pine, caramel, toffee, leafy malt, a little oxidisation. Not the best beer of the evening.

330mk bottle from the National Brewery Centre, Burton - Clear russet body, thin white head. Nose is dark over ripe fruits, caramel and molasses. Warm rich fruity body, smooth anddeep. Quite liked this one.

Bottle bought at the National Brewery Centre, Burton-on-Trent, drunk at home. Light amber/brown, clear with a small creamy beige head. Malty aroma, some resin, forest floor, booze and a metallic note. Sweet taste with huge malt flavours in the mouth. The finish turns bitter, almost acrid, with a woody medicinal character to the long finish. Full marks for trying but it doesn't really work.

9/7/2018. Bottle from Corks, St. Julian's, Malta. Pours brown/red with an off-white head. Aroma of toffee, prune, bread, light chocolate, clove, malt and a touch of berries. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Some dryness to finish. Not bad.

Sweet and boozy. A little leather like licking boots. Pours amber with ok head and lacing. Bottle walking around Paceville.

330 mL bottle. Pours a clear, dark amber color, with a small, bubbly, grey head. The aroma is caramel, pine, toffee, light toast, and rye. Sweet and malty, with a light pleasant bitterness. Medium body, with a creamy, syrupy, and sticky mouthfeel. This isn't great, but it's surprisingly nice.
