ROUNDED & FRUITY. Grimbergen Rouge, flavoured with red fruits, subtly combines the character of an abbey beer with the sweetness and notes of strawberry, cranberry and elderberry. Its purple colour with intense reflections and its slightly pink foam indicates a unique flavour.

330ml bottle @ Hippodrome Vincennes. Pours a murky reddish brown, off white head. Aroma of red berries, sweet malt. Taste bears a confident undefined berry sweetness, not overly sweet, smooth on the palette. A touch artificial but not undrinkable.

Botella 33 cl de supermercado Brugge 09..09..2017. (r06). Lote A71251859 hasta 05..05..2018. Color rojizo turbio con espuma beige. Sabores afrutados dulces acaramelados. Poca acidez casi nada y poco recuerdo de frutos rojos o cerezas si no más bien de caramelos y azúcares. Cuerpo ligero a medio, espumoso gasificado. Fácil de beber. Normal, refrescante.

Red with little white head. Aroma is a hint of raspberries and raspberrie leaves with cherries and slight oak. Taste is sweet artificial cherry with bitter harsh oak. Sweet low sugar lemonade finish with some more oak. Rather watery. Hm.

Bottle [thanks Inoven] @ home. Clear deep amber red color, medium sized pinkish head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma reminds me of (Dutch) "kersen-perzik kwark". Quite nice. At least, the aroma reminds me of something quite nice, it’s not really something I’d look for in a beer to be honest. FLavor though is quite mellow. Surprisingly smooth round mouthfeel with again that flavor of cherry-peach pudding (best translation I can make for that). Though I have no doubt it’s artificially sweetened, it’s not bothering me. I quite like this particular flavor so it’s probably one of my highest rated fruit beers to date.

Flesje thuis gedronken. Rood, cassis achtig bier met weinig schuim. Aroma van kersen en frambozen. Smaakt naar kersen en pruimen is licht bitter in de mond. Weinig nasmaak. Ondanks een ABV van 6 toch een limonadeachtige smaak.

Közepes, tartós hab, áttetsző bordó szín. Illata alig érezhető, pirosgyümölcsös, enyhe karamelles felhanggal. Íze pirosgyümölcsös, határozott égetett cukros és enyhe karamelles aromákkal. Közepesen testes, erősen szénsavas, enyhén kesernyés. Maradjunk annyiban hogy nem nagyon rontották el.
