Tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is caramel malt, woody hop. The flavour is light sweet, with a smooth, slightly roasty, chocolate, light floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

On tap at Clifton Hill Brewpub, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma is very restrained, with light roast and a touch of cocoa and caramel. Flavour is fairly earthy, with toasted malt and some butter, hinting at a slight infection. Not disastrous and pretty mellow, leaving much to be desired.
