75 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 12.11.2010
Aroma has spices, some ripe fruits and plums. Flavour is spicy with ripe fruits, some licorice and raisins. Feels a bit too sharp with the spices and also a bit too sweet. I wonder if aging would do good for this.

Bottle at Camp Beer IX. Pours a dark amber with a small off white head that leaves sticky lacing. The aroma is smokey malt. Medium mouthfeel with a vanilla and chocolate bitter finish. A very good Belgian strong ale from Mikkeller.

750mL bottle, split 4 ways, pours deep dark brown with a reddish tinge and a medium beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, soap, caramel and turpentine. Flavour of brown sugar, citrus, turpentine, burnt caramel and booze. Complex and well-balanced, despite the acetonic notes. Very enjoyable.

18/01/2011 Brasserie 4:20 (tap).

750ml bottle from Alko
2010 vintage - Pours dark brown with a foamy brown head. Strong spicy and malty aroma with notes of caramel, ginger and hops. Taste is malty with notes of raisin, spices, ginger, plum and dark fruits. Finish is quite carbonated and sticky with fruity notes. Okay, quite spicy and Christmasy, but not as good as the best from the series.

750 ml. Deep brown body with a frothy tan head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of roasted malt, spice, cinnamon and paper. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Dry finish. Medium to full body, velvety texture, moderate carbonation. Spicy tastes of cinnamon, ginger, clove with hints of roasted malts. Not very complex for such a big, spiced beer.

Over one year old bottle from poured into glass almost black beer with a big, beautiful and light brown head. Aroma is complex and interesting, balanced sweetness and roastiness, spicyness, anis, also hint of sweet & sourness. Taste is complex, roastiness, herbal spiyness, nicely (medium) sweetness, hint of alcohol, anis. Almost full bodied with lightening carbonation. Tastefull and balanced beer with nice (X-mas-)spicyness but not too much.
