A not so traditional Farmhouse saison or ‘seasonal’ style beer brewed to develop complex fruitiness and acidity. Brettanomyces yeast is added, which over time diminishes the malt and hop character and accentuates the dry, fruity & spicy characteristics.

My original rating on saturday, june 16, 2012750 ml bottle courtesy of theisti by way of bvc. Best by 10 / 2016, side by side with the regular version. My notes are hard to read. Very drying, floral, perfumey... yeah that all sounds like a brett beer. Beautiful full thick head. For some reason I wrote that I was confused by the beer. I wish i could drink this again. 7/4/8/3/15 = 3.7
In hindsight, its hard to rate a beer like this on a first try. I liked it but I didn’t want to like it too much.
I did a blind tasting if Brett Saisons with the Seattle crew. I picked out the beers but did not know the order. I gave this a 3.6, nice to know it was close to my actual original rating. But I have my fave beer (Blvd Saison Brett) a 4.0. Meaning I should add about 25% to the rating. So, maybe like a 4.5.
I am drinking another bottle right now. Had it side by side with the regular Seizon. I like the beer but, again, I can’t help comparing it to the Blvd Saison-Brett. It has almost nothing in common with the regular version. The brett is dominating and almost overly dominating. The bottle is empty on the areas where you find the best buy date and bottle number. There is a bit too much acid and a bit thinned out by the brett. Its a really sharp herbal brett and an acidic kick. My wife puts it best, I want to like it more than I do . So, at the end of the day, I am leaving the rating as is.

Den Haag tasting. Dirty pear juice, opaque w/white head. Orange juice, yoghurt, elderflower, nectar, dough, light spices, parsley, grassy spring onion, yeasty funk. Light sour, funky flowery. Moussant. Funky weird stuff reminds me of Dochter BA ipa stuff.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Big gusher. Super murky orange golden with short lasting white head. Milky, yoghurt, Brett, orange juice, very herbal and grassy with even some green raw vegetables, some light sweet malts, apricot and alcohol. Medium sweet with quite bitter finish. Medium bodied with full carbonation.

750 shared at a tasting. Brett all over the nose with lots of orange peel, fresh-squeezed orange juice aromas. Active carbonation with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. More orange juice on the palate but not sweet. Dry and lightly peppery towards and through the finish. Bone-dry on the finish with wonderful carbonation and a citrus character that persists throughout. Pours whitish and hazy pale, nice formidable white foam. Looks smooth and velvety. Aroma is funky, summer forest berries and some flowery feel to it. Taste has some horseblanket, is sour and funky. Wild strawberries come out in the end. Very nice and multy-layered. Has bit of herbal bitterness there also, lingers nicely for some time. Very good one, thanks Will!

Bottle, 8.0%. Citric and caramelly aroma. Cloudy yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour is citric to begin with, turning slightly sweet. Quite well-balanced. Has a little Brett, not too much, but OK. A bit like a mild cider or a champagne.
