Bottle. Light hazy golden liquid with medium white head. Aroma of lemon, mineral, light smoke, grain and apple skin. Taste is dry and light to medium sour with notes of lemons, apple skin, grain and light smoke. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Better than I expected.

Bottle 750ml. @ RBESG 14 Grand Tasting at Moncada Brewery, Unit 1 Middle Row, Kensal Town, Greater London, England W10 5AT. [ As BrauArt Lambik Peated Weizen ].Clear medium yellow color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate yeasty, horse blanket, barnyard, tart fruit - apple - grape, peat, smoke. Flavour is moderate sweet and light acidic with a long duration, peat, barnyard, dry, dusty malt, fruity - tart. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140809]

Light hazy pale golden colour, small white head. Aroma of smoke, peat, whisky, fruity lemon. Sour flavour, smoke and peat. Finish sour, lactic acid, citrus, wheat. Nice!

Smalll whitish head, well-carbonated golden beer. Smoked, tar, phenols. Bland nose, in fact. In the taste, the sharp sourish lambic flavour appears, but is, at least initially dominated by the phenols. Lemon juice from a small green bottle.Sharpish feel, acidity is agressive, with dry-out effect and astringency. Well-carbonated MF. If this one is supposed to win over Germans to non-Reinheitsgebot beers, consider it a lost cause. No refinement whatsoever. 2nd try (thanks Uli!) new batch with 1 yr lagering. More balance thanks to a bit less outspoken acidity and a bit less phenols, restricted to the nose and the finish. Certainly better, but still - not quite my cup of wee lambic...

Shared by Uli @ Night of the Great Thirst 2014 w/ myself and a few RBers from Canada on April 25th. Color was a light cloudy yellow with a 1 finger head. nose was heavy wood, peat, smoked sausage and leathery honey. Taste was similar. A bit sweeter than I was expecting. peat is not my thing but the tart lemon fruity notes did help balance this beer out.

RBESG grand tasting

Bottle shared at the RBESG ’14, Grander Tasting @ Moncada, 09/08/14. Almost clear golden blonde with moderate white edgeing. Nose is tarte peach, straw, citric sherbets, spice, bready notes. Taste carries a big peaty twang that wasn’t evident on the nose, more peach vibes, tarte fruit, light spice, smoke, touch of acidity. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a touch of TCP. Interesting stuff, not sure I’d want too much but what I had was enjoyable.

Säuerlicher Getreideantrunk, etwas zitronig, weich. Die Torfigkeit kommt ab dem Mittelteil deutlich hervor und bleibt lange erhalten, etwas trocken, mit der Zeit fruchtiger werdend. 11/13/13/11/12/13

Bottle(RBESG 2014): Smokey and sourish nose, maybe some lemons underneath; tart bitter-sourish flavour, light bodied, lingering sourish and fruity finish. Not a pleasure and hardly drinkable…
