Keg at MLF. Dark red brown colour, initial big creamy light gold head that soon fades. Aroma is pleasantly roasty, sweet malt, chocolate and cream, touch of hops. Taste is nice, quite fruity, sweet again, but with light bitterness. Easy drinking. Feels like a dubbel with a little bit more hoppiness.

Very dark brown with creamy head. Aroma has lots of dark roasted malts and a little smokiness. The flavour is similar but less intense.

Dry stout with off-white, stable head and near black colour. Aroma of mocha, vanilla, chocolate, tar, thyme, liquorice; dark fruits in the mouth with metallic and spicy accents, bit resinous mouthfeel, bready and chocolatey maltiness and late, subtle roasted coffee-like bitterness. Another great Jandrain-Jandrenouille beer.

Draught @ Moeder Lambic, Brussels. Pours cloudy coffee brown with small tan head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and coffee. Bitter and roasty onset, replaced by sweetish notes of malt and chocolate. Bitter aftertaste, with notes of roast and hints of liquorice. Low carbonation. Okay but nothing really exciting. But the fact that it is there matters a lot. :-)

Good yellow-brown head, over deep dark reddish brown beer. Roasted, liquorice, dry chocolate, wood, tannines. Dry, again chocolate, wood, felt. Dry brown bread, lightly sweetish in the finish. Not very well-bodied, but grist slick. Not bad, if J-J have done better before.
