12 ounce bottle. Pours a dark mahogany color with a medium white head. A sweet fruity toasted malt nose. The flavor is sweet caramel, toffee, dark notes, vanilla. Very good.

Almost black. This has a big malty nose with dark sugary goodness. Full body, soft, sweet, very nice. Great body, liquid sugar.

Tap at CBM Koenji. Beautiful brown with some caramel on the rims and a finger of tan foam that lingers. Light floral notes, caramel, light roasted smores and tobacco. Rich, full flavors on the palate with average carbonation. As it warms the flavors become more pronounced. Some light floral notes as well. A bit sweet, but not cloying, with a dryness. Peppery finish. Very nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Fujizakura Heights Sakura Bock on 18 Mar 2016 at 19:34 - Score: 7. Original review text: Very nice, rich malt flavor, some peppery hops on the finish. Feels light on the palate and hides the abv well.

Draft - Roast malts, prune and a bit of sourness. Jet brown with a rich but thin brown head. Almost flowery, dark malts, molasses and some dark fruit. A nice example of the style.

On tap at Bungalow, it poured a dark reddish amber black with a very minimal off-white head. The flavor was port like with a mild caramel sweetness. It had a great body and was smooth for 8% which wasn’t so noticeable. Flavorwise it wasn’t so complex possibly due to being served too cold or because my tastebuds were overloaded after a 9-course dinner! All in all a well done beer as I expect from Fujizakura.

Dark brown color; medium sized head, with little retention. The aroma is mild, with Munich malt. Reasonable body strength; caramel and mildly roasted malts flavor, some chocolate in the finish; light oxidisation; correct bitterness. It has a good caramel and malt imprint. Not bad.

Draught at Popeye, Tokyo. Dark mahogany colour, small head. Estery roasty oily nose with caramel dominating later on. Rather sweet, medium to full bodied with rounded, dense mouthfeel. Fairly low bitterness. Good, but not the best offering from Fujizakura.
