Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a big dark brown head. Aromas of dark roast, bitter chocolate, caramel, dust, malts, light smokiness, dark fruits. Taste is dark chocolate, roast, caramel, tobacco, liceorice, light smokiness, dry wood, dark sweet fruits. Damn classy smooth porter!

Ace & Kees 2019. Bottle pour. Black with tan head. Sweet roasted chocolate malts, green hops, hints of berry fruitiness, piney resin edges. Sweet and proper bitter. Over medium body, milky creamy feel and soft carbonation.

A very traditional style porter, but one that's made exceptionally well. Great smoothness in the body, soft, and flavourful. Very roasty, lots of coffee, adds body and flavour. Relatively bitter, if you're used to all the lactosey modern stuff. Great.

Pours a rich brown from a tap. Roasted nuts and coffee aroma and flavor, slightly sweet with a finishing dryness. Pretty good beer.

I hate overly roasted malted beers, this one's so clean and it's a huge flavorful porter, maybe bias cause my bottle but I also haven't drain poured it yet (like other roast malt fermented water I've had). I'm 50/50 thinking bias and this is great.

11.10.2014, tap @ Mikkeller Bar:
Small brown slightly fizzy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and roasted, dark malts, roasted coffee, burnt caramel, paper, hay, soy sauce, grass, cocoa, hops. Taste is slightly rich and roasted, dark malts, hay, sour-ish coffee, hops, burnt caramel, dark sugar, licorice, paper, bark, pine needles. Longlasting bitterness, dry roasted mouthfeel. Nice.

Pours deep brown into a tulip. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving scant lacing. Dark molasses and chocolate aromas. Soft and dry with dark chocolate, soy and licorice upfront turning to mildly charred mocha in the lasting finish.
