Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett.

Bouteille 500ml, gracieuseté de stoned99, merci Alex! Couleur noire opaque, mousse moka riche et crémeuse. Arôme de chocolat, caramel, malt torréfié, café moka, un peu fruité. Goût de chocolat noir, malt torréfié, café, bonne amertume. Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen-dense, crémeuse.

Dark brown color. Medium brown head. Very nice nose of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, toffee, cherries caramel, malts, slightly smokey. Medium body. Very hoppy. Nice chocolatly finish. Definitely an American Porter.

Many thanks to ThirstyBird for sharing! The beer starts intense roasted, smooth with sourish porter hints. Lots of chocolate, roasted malt, moderate bitterness. Easy to drink but great fresh and deep. Smooth malty but not too sweetish aftertaste. Nice!

On tap at Mule Bar, Winooski, VT. Clear, dark, cola brown. Thin ring of tan. Aroma of dark chocolate dipped cherries. Dark fruits. Some fruity caramel notes. Taste is fruity and vinous. Light, roast bitterness. Smooth and fairly light bodied. Finishes fruity, woody bitter. Lovely porter.

Bottle courtesy of Jeroen! Poured a murky dark brown with a frothy tan head. The aroma is sweet roasty smoked malt, creamy caramel. The flavour is moderate to light sweet with a rich, chewy roasted sweet malt, coffee, dark chocolate, light alcohol bitter palate and a lingering liqourice bitter finish. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle shared. Black with nice but short lasting beige head. Nuts, coffee, dark chocolate, light roasted grains, ash, fudge. Towards the finish some nice fresh herbs and a light mineral touch. Medium sweet with roasted bitter finish. Medium bodied with full creamy feel. Great.

[9/25/15] Bottle sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2015 in Bodegraven. Thanks everyone who shared bottles! Black with a tan head. Aroma of roast, coffee, dark fruits. Bittersweet flavor, roasty, with chocolate, coffee, some dark fruits. Full-bodied. Really good.

This was poured into a tulip, eh, oh well, next time mug, nonic or pint glass.
No worries, I know Sean Hill is anal about stupid shit he doesn’t know, eh, whatever.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. Light lacing surrounded the glass, thick yet not too thick as it showed enough spliced delicate thin-ness to it (adequate).
The smell started off with sweet to robust and roasty coffee and cocoa moving slowly into a real nice malty aroma.
The taste rolled into the sweetness nicely with a fairly sweet to roasty with a tad of bitter coffee blending nicely. There’s a nice semi-sweet to roasty aftertaste bleeding into a semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a fairly nice sessionability about it. Carbonation runs nicely underneath fulfilling a fairly light quality but not too light.
Overall, as an American Porter, it works. Its nice and definitely one to have this time of the year.
