Tap at the Watering Hole. Boozy, lots of caramel, light spice, full bodied, maybe too much so. Almost coffee in the fruity booziness. Some bitterness too. Nice though, but it's a smack in the face. Too strong for me. Reminiscent of one of those Belgian Scotch Ales in the 500ml can...

Pour is a dark brown-red with a small tan head. Aroma is sugar plums with some treacle. Flavor is more candied dark fruit with some dark honey and molasses. It is not often a brewer puts the word "boozy" on the label but this ones does and I really don't get much alcohol burn which I am fine with. This was a fine wee heavy ale. Lots of sweet dark malt and a warming but not felt alcohol.

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours ruddy darkish brown with a slight, transient tan head. Aroma of roasty malt with some indeterminant darkish fruit. Med + body. Flavor is sort of fig/plummy/darkish fruits with some nice roasty/toasty/need new word? malt. Smooth. Not too bitter. Far from dry. Great change from IS!

Pours dark brown, bit muddy. Not much carbonation. Some dark fruits and hops in the aroma, sweetness also there. Taste is sweet as I expected scotch ale to be- but not as sweet as I was fearing. Roast and dark fruits together.

Deep brown mahogany color. Very lovely rich malty, slight sweet nose that dark cherries, plums sauce on ham, brandy, toffee. Sweet smooth mouth. Lots of raisins, toffee, cherries and brandy in the mouth. This is an exceptional scotch ale. Wow. Never too sweet or cloying. So smooth and rounded. Fantastic.
