(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 25 July 2013) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of citrus, tropical fruit and spicy, citric hops. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, slightly bready malt, a touch of yeast and a generous grassy and citric bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with balanced sweetness. Nice one.

Aroma is yeasty and fruity with apricot. Feels slightly messy too. Flavour is hoppy with gooseberry bush, fruits and saison-like yeasty notes in the background. Quite typical hoppy saison, yet balanced. Some unpleasant bitterness at the end of the glass though.

4oz sample at Churchkey’s 3 Stars 1st Anniversary event. Pours a hazy gold with some thin, lacing white head. Nose of windex, kumquat, grapefruit. Flavor is honey, lemon, grapefruit, but something really gross and trashy there too. Windex. Zesty finish. Something was off.

Pours yellow with a foamy head. Aroma of spices, zesty fruity hops, grass and citrus. Taste is zesty fruity, spicy and mildly tart with citrusy notes. Finish is hoppy, bitter and slightly tart with spicy citrusy notes. Refreshing, hoppy and summery saison. Alcohol is well hidden.

19/07/2013 Ma che siete venuti a fà (tap). Dorata, acida, lievemente torbida, schiuma bianca fine molto abbondante e molto persistente. Al naso una nota prepotentemente luppolata, erbaceo e leggermente fruttato, lievito saison, spezie. In bocca è un mezzo disastro, erbaceo intenso e persistente, vegetale, anche un po’ di astringenza, caramello (troppo), ma soprattutto una botta tremenda di alcol! Ne risulta una saison sgraziata come poche altre. Corpo eccessivo, carbonazione elevata. Birra completamente sballata.

(Keg at Black Door, 20130730) The beer poured hazy and golden. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had spices, fruitiness, sourness and hops. Palate was medium bodied and drying with medium carbonation. Flavours were spices, fruitiness, grass, yeast, malts and bitterness. Afteraste had spices, hops and bitterness. A tasty hoppy saison.

Draught @ Beer Temple. Typical modern saison with hops that reminds one of White wine, a touch of brett and small dryness in the aftertaste.

On tap @ In De Wildeman, as Brewfist Saison. Cloudy yellow-blonde color, like a witbier. Dense white head. Aroma’s: caramel, fruity, herbal, slightly sweet retronasal. Flavor is caramel, medium sweet & bitter. Medium bodied. Finishes with more caramel, medium bitter. Maybe not a true saison, but overall a nice beer.
