Tap at CBM Koenji. Aroma is pretty authentic. Very malty. Taste too. Really malt dominated, oaty, almost sweet, bitterness is quite subdued, ovaltine. Lightly chocolatey.

Hand-pump real ale draft at Naka-Meguro Taproom. Imperial half pint served in an English half pint glass. Hazy golden yellow with a medium-sized creamy white head. Biscuity aroma dominates with slight grassy undertones on the nose. Slightly sweet with a very muted bitter undertone. Biscuity and bready on the palate with a slight floral grassiness present on the palate. Medium body with a creamy texture. Soft to flat carbonation with a smooth finish with a touch of bitterness. Good stuff.
