From a can. No gunk in the bottom of the can, was expecting some for some reason. Pour is dark reddish brown, yes somewhat like dried blood perhaps. No real head, just a creamy pond scum top. Smell is typical big belgie aroma, bready and somewhat malty. Very nicde lacing on the side of the glass. Quite smooth for a high percent beer but it certainly does have a volatile impact on the olfactory. Don’t lite a match I’m thinken.. Surprizingly no alky burn on this one, actually refined! I would say this is quite more like the old country belgies compared to many of the not- refined uncivilized immoes you find here stateside. Has some farmy-ness back in there lurking around,wew. Then the framy-ness migrates to the nose, like a old damp barn floor. Goes to show how much cans are being accepted, you’d never know this high quality stuff was not from a bottle. $24 for a six pack of this stuff, heheh. Some very mild creamy carbonation that makes it easier to swallow. Finish is weirdly satisfying but needs more manners. Forget my numbers, this stuff is on style and is reminiscent of dogfishead raison detre.
