At ACBF. Another of those extremely wine-like Italian new generation barley wines, clear bronze colour, almost no head. Perfumey, vinous, sweet aroma, raisins, toffee, honey, brown sugar, port wine, banana; honeyish and candied sweet taste, very vinous and port-like, oily mouthfeel, low carbo, long vinous finish with lingering candied sweetness and drying, warming alcohol, hint of herbal hops for bittering balance. Enjoyable sipper, could be a good introduction to the beer world for wine people...

Borefts VI. Bottle. Clear red - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and light, modest fine carbonation. The malts are light but rich in flavour, Creamy toffee - caramel. Light dried fruits. Touch of Port Wine and wood. Airy finish. Nice.

Haand 2014. Brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is sugar, malt, alcohol, dried fruits, caramel. Flavour is sweet, sugar, malt, hop, alcohol, caramel, dried fruits. Full body. Nice beer.

Bottle at BBF 6, 26/09/14. Mahogany brown with a decent beige covering that clears to edgework. Nose carries a woody rinse, caramel, dark berry notes, vanilla. Taste comprises rich dark fruits, spice, bitter notes, light balsam, boozey tones, toffee. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent offering, quite tarte in places for a barley wine but never gets sweet and cloying as some do.

Draft @ Borefts 2014. Strong grainy taste of malt, with some nice sweet fruits like raisin and grape. Quite a rich and long taste, tasty barley wine.

Tap at Borefts 2014. Pours murky brown wit a ring tan head. Aroma is massive malty, caramel and toffee. Flavour is heavy sweet. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

@Borefts 2014, helder robijnrood met fijne kaki kraag. aroma is enorm (honing) zoetig en redelijk wat graan. Smaken: honing zoet, redelijk granig maar niet in een vervelende manier waarop Barley Wines wel eens willen zijn. licht bitter, kruidig, en een iets pittig karakter. Afdronk is honingzoetig, redelijke body, lage co2, mooie honing die vrij lang blijft hangen..

Sampled @ Borefts 2014. Clear Amber to red brown color, no head. Smell and taste lightly malts, sweetness, alcohol, dried fruits and sugar. Decent body, flat carbonation.
