Pours deep amber with a large, lasting head.Nose shows sweet caramel, golden syrup, cardboard and grainy malt.Flavours include less caramel and golden syrup with the cardboard and some vegetal notes standing out instead. Bottle. Poured clear golden with big white head. Rich malty aroma with a lttle tangy fruitiness. Full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is predominantly rich malt with the high alcohol content quite distinctive and some pleasant moderate bitterness in the finish. A good beer.

Bottle. A small, orange-golden lid of foam sits on top of an orange-golden, clear body. The aroma has apricot, alcohol and sweetness. Sweet, apricot flavor with blue plums and some hops giving a little bitterness towards the end. Full-bodied and warming. A decent one, nothing more. Rating: 5-3-5-3-9-2.5. 101015

Bottle, shared by Meilby. A clear, dark golden beer topped by a dense, diminishing off-white head. Very fruity nose, peach standing out, and also pale malt and alcohol. Faint banana too. Medium to full body, decent carbonation. Fruity flavor with some alcohol, some malty sugars. Lightly warming and bitter in the end. Decent, nothing more. 111004

Bottle from a Tesco. Pours rich gold with a soft, white film head. Sugar, cereal and grain malt aroma. Flavor is sweet, malty and grainy with faint caramel. Medium in body with average carbonation and light warmth. Sweet, sort of cheap malts on the finish with boozy notes. Pretty average stuff.

330ml bottle at Pizza Express, Kentish Town on 13 December 2010, into slim branded glass. Gold with thick, rough yellow-white head soon declining but leaving a partial lace. Aroma of fruit and mild spiciness, plenty of malt in main kick with grassy hop by equal measure. Corn/maize notes. Slight cheesy note. Fizzy appearance and texture. Fairly short, bittersweet finish, but with the bitterness winning over.
