The Cassis Tilquin à l’ancienne (6.3% alc/vol) is a spontaneous fermentation beer obtained from the fermentation of frozen blackcurrants in young lambics, blended with 1, 2 and 3 years lambic to reach a final concentration of fruits of 200 gr fruit per liter. This is a different version from the Experimental Draft Versions #1 and #2, as no Meerts lambic was used to lower the ABV of the blend. Served for the first time as a premiere at BxlBeerFest 2019 and sold at the blendery from 6th-7th of September.

Bottle from Dranken Vandewoude and drunk on a campsite with Nelson. Hazy red purple colour thin purple head sour blackcurrant aroma. moderate sourness. blackcurrant on the finish. some fruit sweetness. some sourness. good balance. liked it. good fruity sour beer.

375ml bottle from HoTM. It pours hazy deep purple with a small foamy white head. The aroma is big funky vibes upfront, brett, barnyard, filthy, wet leaves, musty, then the fruit kicks in tangy blackcurrant, bramble, jam, victoria sponge cake and a touch of sherbet. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, puckering, rather juicy and jammy, blackcurrant, bramble, black grape, granny smith apple, zingy, drying oak vibe, brett funk, barnyard, wet hay, earth and a touch of tannin with a dry, fruity finale. Medium body and fine, massaging carbonation. Lovely bright fruit, pucker and deep funk.

Bottled 375ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him and hrabren. Darker red coloured, minimal white head that went away fast, fruity nose. Tart fruity berry taste with notes of blackcurrant and dry tart finish. Nice one.

375ml bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. Shared with Soph on a hot Summery Sunday evening. Vivid deep hazed purple appearance, off white head. Aroma has wild sour dark berries. Moderate to high acidity teasing out the blackcurrant nuances nicely, good wild feel to it, slightly earthy with distant vinegar hints. Quite nicely balanced and drinkable. Very good.

0.375 l bottle that Marko brought from Prague, shared with Ogi and him. Hazy deep copper to ruby red, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, dark cherry, red fruit, vinous, soft but serious acidity, soft funky notes, well balanced. Glue. Fruity flavours, tart cherry and other tart red fruit. Funky, dusty, soft cocoa undertone, red grapes and tanines. Juicy. Moderate to high sourness. Some vinegar. Slightly puckering. Dry finish.

Bottle, huge thanks Poech! Murky dark red body, no head. Funky, very funky, herbal, bitterish fruity aroma. Tart funky taste backed with a nice berry tartness, which may well be blackcurrant though it's not that obvious, still, fairly juicy before the strong tart kick hits, burning your intestines. Likable but seemingly self-destructive.

ABV: 6.3%. Cloudy - hazy medium red colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white - pink head. Aroma is barnyard, leather, blackcurrant, dough, funk, wood - barrel. Flavor is moderate sweet and acidic with a long duration, tart, blackcurrant, funky, wood - barrel, leather, blackcurrant - ribena alike. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20190928]

Refrigerated 12.7 oz. green bottle, best before 2029 corked and capped poured into a tulip. Aroma is funky, medium/light body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is funky, blue cheese, oak, and a little cassis.
