(440ml can from Glasbanken) Pours moderately hazy dark gold with a white head. Aroma of white bread, cracker, saison yeast, moderate herbs, phenolics, dry flowers, lemon peels, juniper, a little tartness. Flavour is quite dry, lightly tart, clear presence of gin botanicals like juniper, herbs and some subtle spice, slightly doughy malt, lemon, some fresh grass, a little mineral. Bone dry finish with light herbal bitterness. Lightish body, average carbonation. A decent saison but I like the gin elements; this is probably because I'm a big fan of the spirit but it definitely broadens the character of the beer.

Bottle at home picked up from the brewery. Pale yellow coloured pour with a greenish tinge, mostly clear with a light haze and lasting pure white head. Aroma is nice doughy wheat, bready malts with floral lemon notes and a nice sharp edge. Flavour is doughy wheat, straw malts with a bit of lemon zest. I don’t get much gin, but that is probably a good thing for me. Palate is milky doughy with moderate high carbonation. Decent uniform white lacing. Lingering juniper berry tang. Very tasty beer.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from the brewery. Pours perfectly clear yellow gold, highly effervescent, with a frothy, virginal white head that settles into a cream. The aroma holds lots of zesty, lightly citric lemon, some dry dough, hints of yeast and flowers, wheat. Light-medium sweet flavor with lightly tangy citrus fruits, faint alcohol, light floral hops, flaked wheat, peach, tangerine, mild dirty hay. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Pretty clean on the finish with more lemony citrus character, mellow rindy bitterness, suggestions of grass, a bit of wheat and sourdough bread. There’s minimal gin character in throughout most of the beer, but in the late pours - including if you pour a bit of the sediment - you get some gin notes, lightly bitter juniper berries, further lemon rind. Pretty interesting beer, and overall quite good. Well balanced and complex. Well done.

2nd October 2014
Hazy yellow - gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is dry and crisp from very fine carbonation. Light floralness and a whisper if lemony citrus. A bare trace of gin like botanicals. Airy dry finish. Somewhat wishy washy and a bit of a disappointment,
